Gail Nesimiuk Gail Nesimiuk is an artist who paints with passion and purpose. She has always been drawn to colour and design and has experimented with many different mediums over her lifetime. Her very first taste of art appreciation came at the age of three as she carefully decorated a tiny gravesite of a small deceased mouse found in the garden; she used small white rocks and colourful pieces of glass.

Tiny hands grew and Gail took on larger and more complex projects. She won first prize at her school art contest which encouraged her to do more. At ten years, she finished a piece and took it to be framed when a gentleman asked to buy it from her right there and then. This was the pivotal point when Gail knew she would be an artist forever. After concluding her formal training in Alberta, Canada, Gail at 23 years of age had her first solo exhibition.

the outer expression of inner reflection As a young struggling artist, Gail experimented with different styles and techniques. Her mother, who painted with oils, her father who worked with wood and rock and her art instructors all challenged Gail to be courageous in her creativity and to paint with freedom. Since then her studio has been her 'lab' where she tests and experiments with colour and movement.

With a love for the dramatic, Gail has worked in oils, inks, pastels and charcoal but for the last 15 years has used permanent natural dyes to create colourful and imaginative pieces. Her distinctive styles are varied and she has developed a number of series that highlight each approach.

Gail and her husband, Ric, have lived in Thailand for 14 years. First working with refugees in Thailand and the last 10 years in Myanmar (Burma) encouraging the Church to respond to the poor in their communities.

Gail with kids Gail has great compassion for children of these nations and views her art as a way to help raise funds for needy children, orphans, kids at risk, and HIV babies. She has held exhibitions in Canada, Thailand, Myanmar and Barbados.

Paintings by Gail are expressionistic, experiential and emotional. She sees her creative talent as the ‘outer expression of inner reflection’ and admirers of her work often express that they are drawn to her style by a unique emotional connection. Gail is thankful for the gift God has given her.
